Memorial Day of the Siege of Leningrad

Date: September 8, 1999
Where: Piskariovskoye Memorial Cemetery and other locations
The Nazi siege of Leningrad began on September 8, 1941 and lasted till January 1944. Flowers will be laid to the common graves of the Piskariovskoye Cemetery by locals who salute the courage of defenders of the city. About 600 thousand victims of the Siege were buried at the Piskariovskoye Cemetery alone.
