The story
of Rasputin's murder unfolds here once again!
On a quiet stretch
of the Moika River stands a long yellow building,
which once was a residence of the wealthy and
respected Yusupov family and which saw one of
Russian history's moments of high drama - the
murder of Grigory Rasputin. In 1916 a
group of men of high standing, including one of
Grand Dukes, led by the prominent anglophile
prince Felix Yusupov, had conspired to kill a man
who was to them a real threat to the future of
the already war-torn Russian Empire. Grigory
Rasputin, a peasant who had gained control over
the tsar's family through his alleged
supernatural powers, was murdered at the Yusupov
Palace on the night of December 16-17, and his
death was as mysterious as his life.
As excellent
tour-guides lead you through the beautiful
recreated interiors, the full story of the murder
of Rasputin will unfold before you.
The exhibition can
