The memorial
apartment of one of Russia's most renowned
writers is just one block away from Vladimirskaya
metro. Dostoyevsky lived here from 1878 to 1881.
It was his last apartment in St Petersburg, and
is full of memorabilia relating to his life and
work. Dostoyevsky wrote a lot about St
Petersburg, setting the action of most of his
novels here. The city felt obliged to commemorate
his name, so in the spring of 1997 a monument to
Fiodor Dostoyevsky was unveiled near the
Vladimirskaya metro station.
The museums also
holds exhibitions of modern art.
How to get there?
Upon exiting the Vladimirskaya metro turn right
and walk for one block. The museum is on the
corner of the next street.
